Edit Mute

Mute a video or audio file when you want it to play without sound wherever it is used. This setting does not remove or change the file's audio track.

Mute during upload​

In the Add file modal, add the video or audio file to the queue, enable Mute, and upload it. The file is muted as soon as it is available in the File Manager.

Change mute after upload​

In the Files menu, open the context menu for a video or audio file and select Edit mute. Turn the switch on to mute the file, or off to restore its audio, then save the change. A mute indicator on the file card shows when the file is muted.

The action requires file management access, which is available to Content Editors when their role and UI profile allow it. It is not shown for other file types.

How mute settings interact​

A playlist, page, or content widget can also mute its media. A muted parent keeps its children silent, and a file-level mute cannot be overridden by a playlist or widget setting.
