Editor and Designer interfaces

Wallboard separates designing what appears on a screen from arranging when and where it plays. You can create a single Slide or a multi-page Content, put media and designed items into a Playlist, then schedule that source for selected devices. The right editor depends on which part of that workflow you need to change.

Design what viewers see

Use Content Designer when you need several pages within one Content. Build each page with widgets, arrange elements in layers, and adjust page and content properties. Use Slide Designer for a single designed page, such as an announcement that needs more than a plain image or video. Slides use a similar canvas and are often added to Playlists.

Arrange items in a playlist

The Playlist Editor puts sources such as media files, Slides, templates, and other Playlists into a playback order. You can adjust the pages and set when an individual page is allowed to play.

If a Slide in a Playlist has values enabled for quick editing, Quick Editor lets you change those values on that Playlist page. This is useful when the same Slide appears more than once with different text or data: editing one page does not change the original Slide or its other uses.

Choose when and where content plays

Use the Schedule Editor to choose one Content, Slide, or Playlist and set its playback times and target devices. Channels serve a different need: they group media and content from contributors and apply rules for what appears across screens, including priority and rotation.

For example, you could design an announcement as a Slide, place it alongside videos in a Playlist, and schedule that Playlist for the screens and dates that need it.
