  • Max. 2 Full HD or 2 4K videos at once (dual 4K 10-bit at 60p).
  • 10-bit HDR support.
  • Integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for on-device AI applications.

  • XD1036 model includes an expanded I/O package (additional ports).
  • Wallboard sensor handling on the XD1036 model via USB type A or type C, 3.5mm RS-232 Serial Port, GPIO ports, and IR control.

Known limitations on BrightSign series 6 devices​

BrightSign Series 6 players no longer support per widget rotation. Only the entire display can be rotated.

This means non Hardware Accelerated player will rotate but the media source inside them will not

Known firmware issues​

We provide support for the series 6 devices with firmware version 9.

Please note

However, please be aware of firmware and platform limitations when using these devices.

The only firmware version we currently recommend is 9.1.99. Most previous firmware versions have known issues, so we advise updating your Series 6 devices to 9.1.99 together with the latest JSCore application.

We are actively collaborating with BrightSign to address reported issues in the latest firmware.

  • Video synchronization puts strain on the devices and can cause crashes
Please note

Disabling video synchronization with Advanced device configuration can prevent some of the aforementioned crashes due to video synchronization strain.

However, please be aware that it can cause unexpected behavior with video synchronization. Page changes will still be synchronized, between two devices, but there will be no guarantee that videos start and finish at the same time.

9.1.99​

This is the only firmware version we currently recommend for Series 6 devices. Most previous firmware releases have known issues, so we advise running 9.1.99.

Series 6 players (XD6, HD6, XS6) share the same BrightSignOS build, so a single firmware package covers all of them:
