Administrator Overview

The super administrator role in Wallboard provides access to system-wide management and configuration functions.

Super Administrators manage users, devices, content, and system settings across the entire digital signage network.

This document outlines the key administrative functions available in the system.

Administrative Functions

Administrator accounts can perform the following tasks:

  • Manage users, customers, and access permissions
  • Control devices and license allocation
  • Configure templates and data sources
  • Access system logs and analytics
  • Configure system settings and branding

User & Organization Management

Customer Management

Administrators can create and manage customer accounts with the following capabilities:

  • Create customer accounts and organize them in hierarchical structures
  • Establish parent-child relationships between customer organizations
  • Configure customer-specific settings and permissions
  • Control which content is accessible to each customer group

User Management

The system provides the following user administration functions:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Assign roles that determine user permissions
  • Configure authentication settings and password policies
  • View user activity logs
  • Enable, disable, or modify user accounts

Device & License Administration

License Management

Administrators can manage software licenses through the following functions:

  • Monitor license usage across all devices
  • Allocate licenses to specific devices
  • View license expiration dates
  • Generate reports on license utilization
  • Track available and used licenses

Device Management

The system provides centralized device management capabilities:

  • View device status and connection information
  • Configure device settings remotely
  • Access device diagnostic information
  • Group devices for bulk operations
  • Schedule device maintenance tasks

Unregistered Device Management

Administrators can manage devices attempting to connect to the network:

  • View unregistered device connection attempts
  • Approve or deny device registration requests
  • Review device connection logs

Content & Data Management

Template Management

The system provides template management functions:

  • Manage Central Templates
  • Manage Local Templates stored on individual server
  • Set permissions for template access and modification
  • Track template versions and changes

Data Source Configuration

Administrators can configure connections to external data sources:

  • View and monitor existing datasources
  • Manage Global datasources
  • Manage customer owned datasources
  • Manage Ad-hoc datasources

JDBC Driver Management

The system allows management of database connectivity drivers:

  • Install JDBC drivers for database connectivity
  • Update existing drivers
  • Test driver functionality
  • Remove unused drivers

Monitoring & Analytics

System Logging

Administrators have access to system monitoring tools:

  • View system logs for troubleshooting
  • Access AI-powered analytics for pattern detection
  • Configure automated alerts for system events
  • Generate reports on system usage

Edge Server Management

The system supports distributed content delivery through edge servers:

  • Deploy and configure edge servers
